Since I was very young I made a specific choice! A choice that took me away from home and not  to experience most of the moments of celebration that are characteristic and important within every family; in particular for my family, rich in traditions and affection.

Opening a restaurant to me means coming back! Back to the time when I was a child, a teenager, to my home, to my grandparents' home, to the magical atmosphere of family Sundays and parties. Joy, laughter and endless meals were the soundtrack to every family gathering.

Now, in Milan, I fill up this void by opening this new location, which I believe shall be an important “convivial” place where family and festivities come to life once more.

Milan is my home now! My “old family” is always by my side; in my past and in my present. My kids, my “new family”, grew up in Milan.

“Caveau di Tradizioni Restaurant” is like my home to me! Opening the restaurant door is like opening my own front door for you, beckoning you in.

FOOD EXPERIENCE

A long time ago I had a dinner in Felice Lo Basso’s Restaurant; I imagined the quality of his cuisine would be very high and that he would enhance the flavour of ingredients, and infact that’s how it was, but what surprised me the most was how much he valued southern Italy – his homeland. His specialties are firmly rooted in the south's tradition: flavours have been traditionally revisited, for his intent is to bring about an unforgettable experience for his diners.

 

When I thought to open my restaurant in Milan, what I firmly desired was to bring out all the excellent flavours of the south of Italy and of my homeland!

 

This is how our collaboration came to be... Today, the Michelin-starred Chef Felice Lo Basso will come along with us in this adventure to let you taste our specialties, which are all full of our history and full of southern Italy.

 

As a tribute to the previous twenty-year activity of a bank, which took place within these walls, I chose to call my restaurant Caveau.

 

This place once guarded valued items; it shall now guard our search for excellent flavours. And we hope it will also guard some of your best memories.
